Most Outstanding Player and All Invitational Team
The 10th Annual National Prep School Invitational, featuring 20 of the top prep schools in the country, will be held Thursday through Sunday, February 7, 8, 9 and 10, 2008, at Keaney Gymnasium on the campus of the University of Rhode Island, Kingston, RI.
This year's event includes Genesis I, Patterson School, Notre Dame Prep, Bridgton Academy, IMG Academy, St. Thomas More, Worcester Academy and the Winchendon School.
Since its inception, the NPSI has had over 500 future Division I college players showcasing their talents, with over 10 going on to play in the NBA, including Dorell Wright, Caron Butler, Bruno Sundov and Demarr Johnson. Past NBA drafts featured former NPSI standouts Rashad McCants, Jarret Jack, Ryan Gomes and Andray Blatche.
The NPSI has the most talent of any high school event in the country. With the new guidelines for high school players advancing to the NBA, it is widely believed by most experts that prep schools will benefit from an influx of talent generated by this rule.
The NPSI continues to grow. The Invitational consistently has over 100 players who sign with Division I programs. This year's talent is equal to that of past years.
